Senior Software QA Analyst – Extensions

Canada - remote working.

The Copperleaf Suite software helps some of the world’s largest energy firms make better strategic decisions through data analytics and optimization. We’re looking for a talented and motivated Senior Software QA Analyst to join the QA team within our larger Extensions team. As a QA Analyst, you will ensure that our customer-specific solutions meet high quality standards. Extensions use a broad tech stack and perform manual and automation QA, so it is a great opportunity to expand your skill set and learn something new!

Location:

Extensions team members are welcome to work from home if that is their desired location. There is also the option to work from the Vancouver office full- or part-time.

The typical hiring range for this position is from $90,000 to $110,000 CAD annually. The base salary offered is based on market location and may vary depending on skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our compensation package permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our company bonus program and equity offerings, subject to eligibility requirements. Key Responsibilities:

The position provides an excellent opportunity to use and enhance your skills in the following areas:

  • Perform all major QA and testing activities, including test planning, test design and test execution, creating bug reports, reporting on testing results and test progress;
  • Perform manual testing and high involvement in test automation tasks;
  • Work with project leadership and other stakeholders to define test automation roadmap, create automated functional regression tests for multiple projects, using and expanding our existing test automation framework;
  • Explore our current development and QA processes and practices, contribute to their advancement and improvement to provide high quality and scalable testing solutions and help deliver quality software solutions on time and on budget;
  • Assess and escalate critical and high impact issues related to product quality;
  • As a member of a cross-functional team, you are motivated to do what it takes to help the team succeed. Combine what you’ve learned with your past QA experience to help test our product, suggest improvements, and make our product better.

Your background:

Ideally, you have the following background, (but we also recognize that talent comes in many forms):

  • 5+ years of QA experience in testing of large enterprise, sophisticated software products;
  • 3+ years of experience in test automation, solid understanding of automated software testing principles;
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle, software QA processes and methodologies;
  • Working knowledge and experience with C# (or other object-oriented programming language), strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles;
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of tools and technologies such as RDBMS (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server etc.), web services, Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, Jenkins, Postman, Selenium, Linux etc.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Able to troubleshoot and solve problems accurately and efficiently;
  • Demonstrated ability to guide the improvements of existing QA processes and methodologies;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • You have an ‘Always Improve’ mentality and constantly strive for self-improvement
  • You are passionate about software quality and able to rapidly acquire new knowledge
  • You are enthusiastic team player, self-motivated and proactive, able to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously and cope with multiple priorities
