Job Description

We're on the lookout for a talented Technical Writer/User Education Specialist to join our team. You'll be crafting and maintaining top-notch technical documentation for our operational intelligence applications and platform.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone with a curiosity mindset and a passion for learning new concepts. You'll work closely with our R&D teams to turn complex technical info into clear, user-friendly content for both internal and external stakeholders. Your goal? Empower stakeholders to find the answers they need quickly, reducing their reliance on support teams.

Responsibilities

• Create and update product documentation, such as product manuals, online help, installation guides, and release notes.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information and ensure accuracy.
• Review and ehance existing documentation for clarity, consistency, usability, and effectiveness.
• Help improve our documentation infrastructure.
• Manage multiple documentation projects, meet deadlines, prioritise tasks, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Report functionality or usability issues found during the development process to assist with quality assurance.

Qualifications

• Required

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Science or related field; or equivalent industry experience.
• Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• At least 1 year of experience as a technical writer in the IT sector.
• Proven ability to write clear, concise and well-structured documentation for a technical audience.
• Strong proofreading skills with attention to detail.
• Experience with authoring tools.
• Basic understanding of technical concepts.
• Excellent English skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as needed.

• Highly Desirable

• Experience in an Agile-like environment.
• Experience with WordPress and Microsoft Word.
• Knowledge of markup and style sheet languages (e.g. HTML, CSS, and XML).
• Understanding of structured authoring concepts.
• Experience with Confluence, Jira, or Azure DevOps.
• Exposure to Oil & Gas, Mining or Industrial sectors is a plus.
