The Role:
As a Product Owner you will work closely with the Product and Engineering teams to create a shared understanding of the business objectives and our user’s problems, and help create solutions that connect the two. Having worked in an agile environment previously, you understand the importance of delivering value in iterations focused on measuring impact and validating product direction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform requirements gathering and define user stories and specifications for the software development teams
- Work directly with the development teams to provide clarity and guidance on requirements and ensure the teams meet the “definition of done”
- Build, manage and prioritize release backlogs and sprint backlogs by working with stakeholders and development teams
- Contribute to the program vision, roadmap, and presentations about new product content by working closely with internal and external stakeholders
- Continuously review business needs, refine priorities, outline deliverables, identify risks
- Participate in team demos and retrospectives to improve internal processes
- Be an expert with the software products
Note: Duties are not limited to those listed above. Additional duties may be assigned as required. However, reasonable consultations with personnel will be made if possible, under business conditions
Skills & Qualifications (Education and Experience)
- Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related field
- 4 years of experience in software development or product development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Scrum Agile work environments and managing product backlogs using appropriate software tools
- Ability to present ideas, concepts, and plans to developers, customers, and stakeholders
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams to deliver on common goals
- Ability to develop relationships with different teams and customers
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple competing priorities
