We’re looking for a People & Culture Generalist to join our team and be part of our next stage of growth.

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their HR career who wants to learn and grow in a role that blends employee engagement, people operations, and recruiting.

You’ll work closely with our People & Culture team to support employees, create fun and engaging programs, and help us attract amazing talent. This is a hybrid role based in Vancouver, with up to two in-office days each week to connect with the team and be part of our vibrant culture.

Skills

Traction Rec’rs come from a variety of backgrounds, and we are eager to find people that are from diverse backgrounds. For this role, you might have :

  • 2+ years of experience in HR, office administration, or a related field (internship experience counts!).
  • A passion for building positive employee experiences and an eagerness to learn about HR.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with an eye for detail.
  • A team player with a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • Experience with event planning or coordination.
  • Familiarity with HR tools or systems (or a willingness to learn!).
  • Interest in recruiting or employee engagement programs.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid environment, with up to two days a week in-office in downtown Vancouver.
  • Bonus points if:
    • You’ve worked in the nonprofit sector, supporting events.
    • You’re a results oriented person who likes to roll up their sleeves to get things done.
    • You’re energized by a fast-paced environment.
    • You’re confined only by your imagination, not your job description.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Plan and deliver employee engagement activities, including team-building events, celebrations, and wellness programs, to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Understand our team's needs, and customize programs that reflect our diverse interests.
  • Support onboarding processes to ensure new employees feel welcomed, informed, and set up for success.
  • Maintain and organize employee records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HR systems and processes.
  • Provide day-to-day support for employee inquiries and assist in maintaining and updating HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist with job postings, resume screening, and coordinating interviews to support recruiting efforts and deliver an excellent candidate experience.
  • Collaborate with and support the People & Culture team on initiatives to enhance the employee lifecycle and align with company values.
  • Support with general office and admin tasks, as required
  • Have a valid BC Driver's License, and access to a vehicle

    Compensation

    At Traction Rec, we are committed to a fair, market-based and equitable compensation structure. Our market data is refreshed on an annual basis to reflect the most current market conditions.

    The starting salary band for this role is $70,000-$75,000. Starting salaries will vary within this range based on experience, skill level, and internal equity related to the role.
